In the mind of an Earthling .....
Nights out at Bangalore
We were involved with work in the day, leaving the evenings and nights free to go out to the town area for some shopping. I have never expected Bangalore to be so packed with various shops and to be so bustling with activities at night.
From the car, it looks as if I have been transported back to Hong Kong's Kowloon district.
The salesperson demonstrated to us the water-resistant propeties of this piece of saree.
We were lucky to make it to this shop before it closed for the day.
Around Don Bosco
We have an ice-breaker with the paticipants before lunch. The entire session for the first day ended around 4.30pm. We went up to freshen up before walking to the grocery shop to get some snacks and water.
The auto- rickshaw, preferred mode of transport in bangalore, also affectionately known to us as Hamima's "good friend", because for the past few days, she had been trying to get good shots of these vehicles on the roads. We were all excited to see this stationary one by the road, complete with driver resting on the seat.
I like the rustic and colonial mix of this house
Our tried and trusted provision shop. Elaine bought two big bagfuls of chips from them on the last day of our stay. Masala Magic Lay's potato chips....
I found this interesting. A fruit and vegetable stall smacked in the centre of residences.
Friendly neighbourhood "dohby" who vey patiently posed for us and with us, for a photo moment.
Chempadak trees heavy with fruits just outside the conference room of th dormitory.
Bee Hives!!!! Big ones! There were about 6 in total. outside the dorm, at the front gate.
My Dormitory room at Don Bosco
Clean and comfortable and I am so so glad it came with its own bathroom.
I'm back I'm back I'm back from India!!!!
I flew off on a Monday morning (11th Dec) and was back the next Saturday's (16th Dec) morning. Technically, I only get to experience India for 3 days.
This is how my first day went: My entire Monday was spent flying from SG to Chennai, transit at Chennai for 5 hours before taking the late evening flight to Bangalore. The host at Bangalore drove us out for dinner and some hot tea later at his place before we finally get to sleep around midnight.
I have always hated flying, the only thing that perks me up is the view from the window and the cute airline meals they served.
Many would turn up their noses and make screwed up expressions at airline food, but I don't see a big deal about it as they always served food in neat proper portions in those adorable little bowls and I am a sucker for food and dining ware which looks pretty and small. I think if I were to throw a dinner party, I would probably make my guests eat from airline food inspired trays and dining ware. Nobody gets a chance to waste food or take more than his share...everything will be portioned according to his o her dietary and mental needs. Perfect for the Virgoan moi!
I like to look at the world from different perspectives and capture her at her best. Hence the blog address -the many faces of life
